Rickmans' South Africa Trip 2007
When we were at Grace Church in Evanston, a marvelous family came into our lives. Phemba Buthelezi was a Lutheran pastor from South Africa, in Chicago working on his Ph.D. He and his family became members of our church, and subsequently good friends of ours, as well. Phemba often told us that when they return home, we must come to South Africa. "Just buy your plane tickets," he would say, "and we will provide everything else...everyone will want you to be in their homes. We will show you our churches, our ministries, our schools, our country." -- So, in the summer of 2007, we took him up on his promise. And what an incredible experience it was...
